About Us

NBPOL today is a fully integrated plantation company having some of the world's highest yielding plantations of oil palm and an extensive level of control over its entire supply chain, from control and development of its breeding material to produce seeds, through planting, harvesting, processing, logistics and finally contracting with its end customers.

NBPOL is a large scale industrial producer of sustainable palm oil in Australasia, with over 40,000 hectares of planted palm oil plantations, five oil mills, a refinery and a seed production and plant breeding facility.

NBPOL has been certified to the only standard issued by the International Standards Organisation related to environmental management, known as ISO 14001, which relates to what the company does to minimise harmful effects on the environment caused by the company's activities and achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.

NBPOL wanted to exceed these broad environmental standards and achieve certification to a new standard specifically related to the sustainability of the palm oil industry. In 2004, NBPOL spearheaded the international Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) seeking to improve the sustainability credentials of the Palm Oil Industry, and is now an executive member. RSPO’s aim is to "promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil", and to develop a specific set of criteria against which companies can be assessed and accredited.

New Britain Oils, NBPOL's UK division, is in a very rare position in the palm oil industry; it will be the first producer in Europe able to offer a comprehensive range of palm oil products from the RSPO certified plantation that can demonstrate complete traceability all the way back to source, which is vital to proving the sustainability of its oil.
