MedImmune UK – Site Strategy – 2010 Vision The UK will become a Centre of Excellence for the manufacture and supply of FluMist products. MedImmune’s performance as a site, and the can-do attitude and approach it has developed will enable them to be poised to meet the expanding manufacturing needs of MedImmune worldwide, and therefore become a location of choice for future product manufacture.

The Influenza Vaccine Facility based in Speke, is a brand new, state of the art manufacturing facility. Due to the seasonal requirement for the ’flu vaccine, called FluMist, it employs a seasonal contract workforce, with an overall workforce of approx. 150 people. These contract teams are instrumental for the successful manufacture and release of the FluMist vaccine to market.
