No Price Increase from SRG
Tue 18 Sep 2007
Good news for SRG Clients – unlike the vast majority of UK recruitment businesses, SRG will not be increasing charge rates by 1.6% on 1st October 2007 when the new Holiday entitlement regulations increase the minimum number of paid holidays per year to 24 from 20.
Since 1999, when SRG introduced the full contract of employment model to temporary Workers, we have provided an enhanced holiday scheme for our Associates. The vast majority of UK recruitment agencies, who currently provide only the minimum 20 days per year, will be asking their clients for a 1.6% rate increase in order to fund the additional four days holiday they will now need to give their temporary workers.
Elizabeth Lang, employment lawyer at Bird & Bird, said: “This change is going to have a real financial effect on many employers. This may particularly be the case in sectors that rely heavily on agency workers who are commonly only given the statutory minimum paid holiday entitlement of 20 days.” (quotation courtesy of personneltoday).
Mike Ellingham, Head of Marketing for SRG commented. “The new price differential only serves to increase the benefits to clients of utilising contract Associate workers via SRG. Through this model we are able to attract the best quality of candidates for clients by offering benefits, job security and a career for scientists looking to gain experience through working for a range of different companies.”
“We are continually looking at ways of enhancing the benefits we offer to our Associates and from 1st October 2007 we will be introducing the new benefit of Tax-Free Child Care vouchers for our Associates, again with no additional cost to our customers. We believe that this will help to encourage scientists with young children to return to the work place and thus offer our customers an even broader range of good quality candidates.”
