Science Labour Market Trends 2007
Wed 21 Nov 2007
The 2007 SRG “one minute science labour survey was launched in late September to managers within UK science companies and organisations via Zoomerang, the leading e-survey tool. The survey closed on 31
October 2007 with
449 completed responses.
Key findings include:
· Companies in our survey are using more permanent and contract scientific staff than 12 months previously.
· This had led to a tightening in the labour market and a significant number of companies are now finding it even more difficult to recruit than a year ago.
· Four times as many companies are looking to increase the numbers of permanent scientific staff they use over the next 12 months compared to those looking at a decrease.
